Never a Dull Moment!

Okay first off On the PBS station after EVERY episode on there they always say "for more (What ever the show was) join us on PBSkids.Org"

So My Mom, Kobe and I all decide to drive through the park (as we do EVERY night) and around the back are the Ginger Bread Men... my

Mom: "Oooh Look Kobe"
Kobe: "yeh thats me and Caillou" (Cartoon on PBS)
Mom: "Do you like caillou?"
Kobe: "Yeh me do"
Mom: (talking to me) "I personally think he is s-t-u-p-i-d" (spelling it so Kobe didn't hear it)
Kobe: "nu-uh mamaw he's PBSkids.org"

There is NEVER a moment with my child he is always on his toes!

***** Meet "Jack" ****

This is Jack
Jack is our "Elf On The Shelf" Buddy!!! He comes with a story book you read with the kids and tells you all about Jack and why he is at your house!

So While Kobe was upstairs on the phone with his mamaw, I got the book out and sat the Elf on a wicker heart I have and when Kobe came down stairs I said Look who came to see us and brought us a book. He looked around thinking it was going to be a normal size human lol. He didn't spot him so I had to give him several clues. When he saw him he was in awe. I told him come over here and sit on the couch and we will read the story about him. So he crawled up on my lap and the questions started LOL I didn't think I was going to be able to read the story due to him stopping me and asking 25654112 Questions. So Anyways here is how it goes if you are wondering. You let your child name your elf. Kobe named him all by himself... Named him "Jack" you aren't aloud to touch Jack because he will lose his magic and leave and not come back. But every day Jack sits and watches Kobe ALL day and then at night when he goes to bed Jack flies to the North Pole and tells Santa if Kobe was a good boy today then returns before Kobe gets outta bed and sits in a different spot. Every morning Kobe gets the joy of looking for Jack in a new spot. If your child has an amazing imagination like mine then I HIGHLY recommend this but not til they are older. Kobe is 3 will be 4 in Feb and this is the PERFECT age for him to start this. Its cute and fun and dang it gets me 23 days of Good behavior outta Kobe LOL Well I am hoping at least LOL. Kobe loves Jack and talks to him constantly. I don't think he'll get bored with it either because Every night he moves to a different spot and Kobe has to look for him! I just hope I can find 22 more different places to put Jack that Kobe can't reach him LOL I look forward to moving Jack every night. Last night I couldn't wait for Kobe to fall asleep so I could sneak down our stairs and put Jack in a new place! Its doesn't take much to excite me LOL I think you can get "The Elf On the Shelf" at Barnes and Noble I got mine as a gift last year. If you have someone you could give this to as a gift I highly recommend it :o) I think I made my point bout recommending it! :o) I love Christmas and I love Doing this and the whole Santa Claus thing. We go and see Santa at the Mall because to me THAT is the "real" Santa lol I'm still a HUGE believer in the Idea of Santa and I will cry when it comes the time my son says he doesn't believe anymore. But hopefully I will be as good as my mom was in making me believe there was a Santa that it will last forever like it does for me. :o)

Wow...3 Years Ago!

On Oct 5Th it was 3 years ago my baby was in Riley Hospital with bleeding on his brain. Me and Tim (my now ex husband, Kobe's "father") were being accused of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Here's a short version of what happen...

In September Kobe had been vomiting and not keeping ANYTHING down for 12 days. Then on top of that he caught a cold and was coughing and coughing. So after his Dr. had us try everything and when he wouldn't even keep Pedalyte down I took him BACK in to the Dr. and said something had to be done well the nurse did all her nursely duties including Measuring his head. It had gone up from the previous time he was in there so the Dr. triple checked it and had Kobe Admitted in DCH to give him fluids and run tests on his head. So we were in the hospital 2 days and right before we were released to go home the Dr came in with the CT Scan results and said they found some fluid on Kobe's head and he would have to be sedated to have a MRI done, to get more details and that we would have to go the next day to Deaconess in Evansville to have the test done. So the next day off we were going to E-ville to have the MRI done. I was a mess at this point btw, especially since we didn't know what was going on and my 8 month old was going to be sedated! He did really well tho I was soo proud of him! So weeks went by and finally his Dr called me at work and asked if me and Tim could come to the Dr's office and talk to the Dr. So I called Tim's work and he came and picked me up from work. So we headed to the Dr's I was sick to my stomach btw! So we get in there and he had the MRI results in his hands and told us that there was bleeding on Kobe's head in between his brain and the brain lining and that he was sending us to Riley... So off to Riley us and my parents go, we get up there and no one knew anything about us coming and everyone was confused as to why we were there... and finally they got all their stuff straight and Kobe was admitted. But because we had gone up there before our Dr called we had Child Protective Services (CPS) thrown in our faces and they were telling us that we might have to leave with OUT Kobe if they find anything that links to his head bleeding from abuse. So they did EVERY test possible, Bone scan, Bio Nuclear Bone Scan (where they give him this stuff to turn his bones blue to see if there were any little spots they missed) Eye tests, hearing test, ect. U name it they tested him for it. Finally after all the test came back negative we were released a week later... We had doctors constantly in our room asking us the same questions over and over we probably saw like 10 doctors... it was a mess... and VERY scary to think in a matter of minutes we were being accused of hurting our baby and could possibly get him taken away for something we didn't even do. The bleeding was from his prolonged vomiting and coughing had busted tiny blood vessels. A year later after all that we had to go back to Riley and see his Neurologist and have another CT Scan to make sure everything was okay and it was NOTHING on his head this time. So his Neurologist released us from under her care.

I can't believe its been 3 years ago! It seems all too fresh in my mind to think its been 3 yrs! Wow time sure does fly!!

Happy Halloween '09

Halloween was so fun this year! Kobe actually knew what to do this year. Also it was SOOOOOOOOOO nice that he can unbuckle himself and since the door on the van is automatic he can get out himself to so that took less time as last year when I'd have to undo a 5 point harness car seat and then buckle him back in that 5 point car seat lol We stoped by his Great Grandma and Grandpa Solliday's, mom's best friend Sherri's, His Great Aunt and Uncle Darren and Shellie, Cathy and Tim Dant's, the sheriff station, his great Grandma and Grandpa Hill's and then to Mamaw Kathi and Papaw Denny's(my parents) and he got a HUGE load of Candy..

He was a Power Ranger this year! I had a Halloween Party to go to Later that night and I was an Old White Trash Hag LOL

My friend who went to Haunted Houses in INDY Friday night said that those haunted houses were nothing compared to this one... that this was the best they had been to and they went to 6 in Indy! Just driving by it and seeing the people in their costumes is scary enough for me... BUT

And The 2nd Place Winner is...(Drum Roll)

...Kobe

Thats right!! Kobe got 2nd Place in the Tricycle Race held at Legends Assisted Living. I was a VERY Proud Mommy!! I mean its just a tricycle race.. I know... but it was his first win and he got a trophy!! He is pretty proud of it too... He says its his "piss'n cup" HAHAHAHA AKA Piston Cup like on The Movie Cars! LOL He had to show everyone. So now we are on the mission to find a shelf to put his trophy on.

We had a really fun filled day yesterday. It started off a little rough. We were suposed to leave town and head to the craft show by 9 and I woke up at 8:50am... So I called mom and said my alarm didnt go off and give me 30 minutes. So I jumped in the shower got out, got dressed, fixed my hair, slapped some make-up on, Got Kobe dressed, Grabbed poptarts and drinks and out the door we went in 20 Minutes flat!! how the heck I managed that one I have no idea... I'm just thankful Im one of those women who dont "have to" wash their hair everyother day lol... So off we went to pick mom up and then off to get Amanda and Liv... We get to Jasper's Craft Show and since they were running outta parking we got to park pretty close to the buildings which see if it wasnt for me running late we woulda had to park far away... LOL things always work out LOL... there were probably 6-8 buildings FULL of crafts, SO many things I wanted and didnt get, do to having NO MONEY ugh! But we had fun and Mom got A LOT of cool things. So then we headed to lunch. Just McDonalds so the kids could play and run some of their energy off.. They were 2 of the best behaved kids yesterday. After we got back in town we headed to my house to get Kobe's tricycle then off to the Kid's Fest @ Legends. It was soo nice out there the place is GORGEOUS! The fest was all free... there was face painting, fishing (for ducks lol) food, music, games and more..

Later that evening my whole family gathered over to my Grandparents house for My Uncle Tom and Cousin Jacob's birthday celebration. We had potato soup, broccoli soup and coneys it was really nice. We didnt leave there til 10:30ish. I love family get togethers. I love my family and am blessed to have such a wonderful family... Here are just some pics from out day yesterday::

♥Kobe Lee♥

I fall more and more in love with my son everyday... he says the funniest things and always brings a smile to my face. He is soo smart... at age 3 (and a half) he::

**Knows his FULL address!

** Can spell/recognize his name!

** knows his ABCs with some help after H hahaha...

**Would rather eat Broccoli than anything,... (cooked or raw)

** Loves all fruits and veggies and would rather have that over a sweet!

** knows all his shapes and colors

** Can play and BEAT games on NickJr.com for ages 4-6

** Can work the computer better than my father LOL

I could go on and on about him all day... Some of the things he says just makes me stop and think "omg how in the world did u know that"

Today Kobe: "Mom, Do u know what T-Rex eats?" Me: "yes, animals" Kobe:"no, they eat meat" HAHA Obviously Dinosaur train on PBS is paying off...

Another convo that broke my heart... this was just out of the blue, Kobe:"I not have a dad" Me:"Yes you do, what about Tim" Kobe:"No Me not have a dad, me just have my mommy, thats all I need" ..... is it possible that he is old enough to realize his father isnt in his life? Which breaks my heart even more.. I don't want him to hurt thinking about it... But I am glad that he knows His mommy is here and that I am all he needs... Makes me feel that I am doing a good job. Being a single mommy is a very hard job. But I wouldnt trade it for anything.. I Love it just being me and Kobe! :o)

H1N1

Soooooooo... This whole swine flu, H1N1 whatever scares me... is it child abuse if I make my son stay in the house and never leave? LOL. Also u might all think I'm awful... But Kobe will NOT be getting the vaccine. I have this big thing with putting things in our body's, like medicines. I don't take birth control because it messes with the whole baby making system not saying it does anything wrong just how I am and how I think... I dunno I'm just weird like that... but this vaccine hasn't been around long enough for me to trust it... plus I have heard of 5 heart attack cases have happened with people who just received the vaccine... they aren't sure if THAT is what caused it...but still scares me... UGH I dunno I just hope this all gets away from this area ASAP! *SIGH*

I should be a movie/tv critic...

Every day from morning til about 8 at night... if the tv... is on its on cartoons or kids shows. But some of them drive me crazy haha and here are a few...

Max and Ruby:: Ruby who is in grade school is always taking care of her lil brother Max... Where the heck are their parents? She even had to take him to "Bunny Scouts" and he was a lil pest LOL... I mean I have never seen their parents.. One episode Grandma came over when they had a lemonade sale but thats all Ive seen of an adult figure LOL.

Caillou:: A four yr old little boy that talks and acts like a baby??? Him and his baby sister talk the same LOL... it just drives me CRAZY!! But Kobe LOVES Caillou...

SpongeBob:: Oh don't even get me started on this one... It has adult humor.. Why must the characters say STUPID, MORAN, JERK and so forth?? There is no need... Kobe used to watch that ALL the time.. and I have now took it out of his TV watching...

When the TV is on I keep it on PBS unless its in the morning and then Diego and Dora are on Nick Jr. or Disney... for Handy Manny which I LOVE!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that show!! And Another probably my FAVORITE of ALL time and I will actually sit and watch with Kobe is Arthur!!! I LOVE Arthur... We love his books too... Arthur in on PBS also.. which sometimes they say stupid but its on PBS and it always has a Point to every story!!

I know I shouldnt read into children's shows soo much but wow some of them just make me wonder LOL...

Oh and Also I can't remember the name of the show but there is a show I think on PBS and the mother and face are of different races. Which I think is wonderful...

Another thing me and Kobe made was our Halloween Ginger Bread House... HAHAHA that was a JOKE! LOL Kobe was too young for it... and the icing was SOOOO sticky... hahaha But we had fun thats all that matters right? LOL

Sad right? HAHAHA He thought it was the best thing LOL.. So once again thats all that matters~

"Barn-Yard'n"

AKA YARD SALE'n Kobe was a bit confused as to why we were up when it was still dark outside LOL... at 6:30 this morning... As I wrestled with my grouchy lil monkey to get his clothes on this morning he wanted to know what we were doing soo I told him we are going yard sale'n... and that maybe if he was good we would get him something at the yard sale. Well that worked for 5 minutes... long enough to get his pants and shirt on lol so in order to get his shoes and jacket on I had to "bribe" as u will lol, him with stopping at the gas station and getting him chocolate doughnuts. Healthy, right?? Oh well ... Soo off we go out to Cumback to yard sale and Kobe tells us he wants to go "barn yard'n" hahahaha after the first 2 "barn yards" he got the hang of it and would get antsy the longer we'd drive to get to the next one. He purchased a few toys himself. He'd walk up to the table lay his toy on it and hand the person the money like he was a pro LOL he thought he was HOT STUFF!!

I was on the mission to find him some fall/winter clothes since he only has 2 shirts and 1 pair of jeans. I ended up gettin him 12 shirts 4 pairs of pants, bib overalls BRAND new, and 1 pair of jammies! The shirts are nice and stain free and gently used... some are GAP, Adidas, &Old Navy.

At least the getting up at 6AM was worth it!! :o)

Do you feel what I feel??

That WONDERFUL Fall weather!! Oh I love it soooooo much!! Makes me very happy... Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year!!

This weekend we went to Mitchell to the Persimmon Fest/ Parade. It was soo much fun... the parade was almost 2 hrs long and VERY good... there were Colts Cheerleaders, Sponge Bob, Barney, and this AWESOME drill team from Chicago... It was soo "Small Town USA" like the WHOLE town lined the streets with lawn chairs and blankets and cheered when certain people came down the street... People walked up and down the streets selling cotton candy and toys...it was really neat we REALLY enjoyed it. Now why did I go to Mitchell,IN you may be wondering LOL... my brother and his fiance live there. My soon to be SIL Lauren is from there... and she invited us all to come. I am soo glad she did.

Sunday was kinda a lazy day which I love... although I had a bridal shower to attend... It was a very simple bridal shower but very nice...

I got my van back and have been soo happy that I have the freedom to come and go as I please now.. that is the BEST thing...

Hope u all enjoy this BEAUTIFUL weather!!! We are headin outside!!

Thankful Thursday!!

I have many things to be thankful this week...

*My precious son... who can drive me crazy to no end one minute and then make me the PROUDEST mommy the next! For example tonight when it was story time before bed, I read him our FAVORITE book we recently purchased. Arthur's Reading Race . I read him the book and then he wanted to read it to me. I said "now Kobe, Mommy told u after I read this story its bed time" since it was 10:30pm. But he started to read anyways... well I was BLOWN away... he knew that book pretty much word for word... I smiled the whole time he read it too me... it was THEE most PRECIOUS thing I have EVER hear!!

* My WONDERFUL parents who are helping me out so much the past few days. If it wasn't for them my life would still be in ciaos

* My Wonderful BF who has put up with my CRANKY PMS mood swings...

* For Olivia's surgery going good with no complications and everything going smoothly.

I know I have ALOT more to be thankful for but these are the ones that stick out!! :o)

Truly Blessed!

I truly am blessed... I have many things that I am thankful for but My parents are by far the best!!! They are helping me out and getting my vehicle fixed. I have been with out a vehicle for almost 7 months. Let me tell you, if u have never been with out a vehicle it is the most inconvenient thing. Always needing a ride, always asking to borrow a vehicle. I was lucky to have my brother and brother -in- laws trucks to drive when needed.

I am finally starting to see my life get better and better day by day!

oh yeh and....

GO COLTS!!!!

Weekend Recap!

What a BEAUTIFUL day it was today... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this weather....! Makes me in such a good mood! My Weekend was PERFECT!!! Couldn't have asked for anything better!!
Friday:: Derrick arrived about 2pm and we hung out around the house with the crazy kiddos until about 6:30 and we went and met my Mom, TJ, Laurie and Zach at Mi Pueblo for dinner... I'm sorry but I still am liking El Mazatlan WAY better... but that's just me! While we were there it started storming and the power went out. Not for too long tho. Then it was time to leave and it was POURING out! So Derrick the sweet heart that he was went and got the truck that was far away since Mi pueb was PACKED as usual. So me and Kobe went to get in the truck and were were SOAKED! We looked like we took a shower with our clothes on LOL. We were more wet than Derrick LOL. After we ate we went over to Laurie's and hung out. Tina and her hubby Chris were there also. We had a really nice time.
Saturday:: Me and Kobe woke up to Derrick surprising us to breakfast... Which was nice.... then later he fixed lunch. I could SO get used to this LOL. Later that afternoon he wanted to see the Amish part so we took a stroll through the back roads of Montgomery. Then over to Glendale to see the camp ground. Then we headed over to cum back so I could show him my Aunt's house. Than through Maysville than back to Washington lol. It was a beautiful day for a drive. When we got back to Washington we went and had Scoop's...

Later that evening we went over to my grandparents so they could meet Derrick. He was kinda nervous because he's sooo shy but he did fine and they really like him. :o)

Sunday:: Today Derrick had to leave about 11:30 :o( but he's gotta get home and work on the farm... So we (me and Kobe) headed to my parents. We had my cousin Luke's Birthday at 1:oo My Aunt made Coneys...they were delicious! And a majority of my family was there. We had a really nice time and didn't end up leaving Grandma and Grandpa's til about 8:30pm. It was SUCH a wonderful day with the family. I truly am blessed!

Bye Bye Rock Bottom... Hello New beginnings!!

I'm probably at that point in my life were some consider "rock bottom". Living off welfare, no vehicle, no job, etc. Now I will admit I'm WAY better off than some people as I sit here in my nice cozy bed watching cable TV as I type this post on the Internet on my nice laptop that.. Okay okay maybe "rock bottom" isn't the WORD... but this is the lowest my life has been. At one point in my life I had a husband, job, house, vehicle, etc. and in a matter of months it was all gone... Dated a few duds, thought I would never meet a sweet guy who loves me and my son.. HELL my ex HUSBAND my son's FATHER didn't even love us. I mean its obvious he didn't love Kobe or he wouldn't be sitting down in Evansville not giving 2 shits about his son. But that's okay buddy u keep them checks coming and We'll be fine you POS! But anyways I was about to give up hope. After over a year of meeting/talking to SEVERAL men and finding out they ALL are jerks. I finally after along time of being friends start to have feelings for this guy. So one night I expressed these feelings and he was relieve because he too had feelings, STRONG feelings at that. He was happy to hear I felt the same. So now Me and Derrick are going on 4 weeks and it is sooooo amazing that it took us this long to become a couple. He is very sweet caring and LOVES Kobe and they best part is Kobe LOVES Derrick. That makes me know HE is the one. If Kobe is happy then Mommy is happy. Just please say a little prayer that things go smoothly and my life can start to change for the better. And if anyone knows of any job openings I need an 8-5 shift do to daycare hours PLEASE let me know or let THEM know about me! :o) Well my little KoKo Bean just crawled in bed with me so I need to get off here and snuggle with him.

Zoo Day!

We decided to go to the Zoo today since the weather was nice. We haven't been since they got the new section. Which was VERY nice! The new main entrance was VERY appealing and looks sooo nice... now I hope they work on the older part of the Zoo it is in MAJOR need of a face lift... We had a fun day and really enjoyed ourselves. Kobe had a blast. This was the first year he was able to appreciate the zoo. Although every time we'd come to a new exhibit he would grab on to me and ask "are the loose?" hahahaa No Kobe they are in cages LOL than he was fine LOL he is kinda of a "chicken little", I'll admit he gets that from his Mommy :o) Here are some pics from today! HAHAHAHAHA EXCUSE this first picture!
