Wow...3 Years Ago!

On Oct 5Th it was 3 years ago my baby was in Riley Hospital with bleeding on his brain. Me and Tim (my now ex husband, Kobe's "father") were being accused of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Here's a short version of what happen...

In September Kobe had been vomiting and not keeping ANYTHING down for 12 days. Then on top of that he caught a cold and was coughing and coughing. So after his Dr. had us try everything and when he wouldn't even keep Pedalyte down I took him BACK in to the Dr. and said something had to be done well the nurse did all her nursely duties including Measuring his head. It had gone up from the previous time he was in there so the Dr. triple checked it and had Kobe Admitted in DCH to give him fluids and run tests on his head. So we were in the hospital 2 days and right before we were released to go home the Dr came in with the CT Scan results and said they found some fluid on Kobe's head and he would have to be sedated to have a MRI done, to get more details and that we would have to go the next day to Deaconess in Evansville to have the test done. So the next day off we were going to E-ville to have the MRI done. I was a mess at this point btw, especially since we didn't know what was going on and my 8 month old was going to be sedated! He did really well tho I was soo proud of him! So weeks went by and finally his Dr called me at work and asked if me and Tim could come to the Dr's office and talk to the Dr. So I called Tim's work and he came and picked me up from work. So we headed to the Dr's I was sick to my stomach btw! So we get in there and he had the MRI results in his hands and told us that there was bleeding on Kobe's head in between his brain and the brain lining and that he was sending us to Riley... So off to Riley us and my parents go, we get up there and no one knew anything about us coming and everyone was confused as to why we were there... and finally they got all their stuff straight and Kobe was admitted. But because we had gone up there before our Dr called we had Child Protective Services (CPS) thrown in our faces and they were telling us that we might have to leave with OUT Kobe if they find anything that links to his head bleeding from abuse. So they did EVERY test possible, Bone scan, Bio Nuclear Bone Scan (where they give him this stuff to turn his bones blue to see if there were any little spots they missed) Eye tests, hearing test, ect. U name it they tested him for it. Finally after all the test came back negative we were released a week later... We had doctors constantly in our room asking us the same questions over and over we probably saw like 10 doctors... it was a mess... and VERY scary to think in a matter of minutes we were being accused of hurting our baby and could possibly get him taken away for something we didn't even do. The bleeding was from his prolonged vomiting and coughing had busted tiny blood vessels. A year later after all that we had to go back to Riley and see his Neurologist and have another CT Scan to make sure everything was okay and it was NOTHING on his head this time. So his Neurologist released us from under her care.

I can't believe its been 3 years ago! It seems all too fresh in my mind to think its been 3 yrs! Wow time sure does fly!!

Happy Halloween '09

Halloween was so fun this year! Kobe actually knew what to do this year. Also it was SOOOOOOOOOO nice that he can unbuckle himself and since the door on the van is automatic he can get out himself to so that took less time as last year when I'd have to undo a 5 point harness car seat and then buckle him back in that 5 point car seat lol We stoped by his Great Grandma and Grandpa Solliday's, mom's best friend Sherri's, His Great Aunt and Uncle Darren and Shellie, Cathy and Tim Dant's, the sheriff station, his great Grandma and Grandpa Hill's and then to Mamaw Kathi and Papaw Denny's(my parents) and he got a HUGE load of Candy..

He was a Power Ranger this year! I had a Halloween Party to go to Later that night and I was an Old White Trash Hag LOL

My friend who went to Haunted Houses in INDY Friday night said that those haunted houses were nothing compared to this one... that this was the best they had been to and they went to 6 in Indy! Just driving by it and seeing the people in their costumes is scary enough for me... BUT

And The 2nd Place Winner is...(Drum Roll)

...Kobe

Thats right!! Kobe got 2nd Place in the Tricycle Race held at Legends Assisted Living. I was a VERY Proud Mommy!! I mean its just a tricycle race.. I know... but it was his first win and he got a trophy!! He is pretty proud of it too... He says its his "piss'n cup" HAHAHAHA AKA Piston Cup like on The Movie Cars! LOL He had to show everyone. So now we are on the mission to find a shelf to put his trophy on.

We had a really fun filled day yesterday. It started off a little rough. We were suposed to leave town and head to the craft show by 9 and I woke up at 8:50am... So I called mom and said my alarm didnt go off and give me 30 minutes. So I jumped in the shower got out, got dressed, fixed my hair, slapped some make-up on, Got Kobe dressed, Grabbed poptarts and drinks and out the door we went in 20 Minutes flat!! how the heck I managed that one I have no idea... I'm just thankful Im one of those women who dont "have to" wash their hair everyother day lol... So off we went to pick mom up and then off to get Amanda and Liv... We get to Jasper's Craft Show and since they were running outta parking we got to park pretty close to the buildings which see if it wasnt for me running late we woulda had to park far away... LOL things always work out LOL... there were probably 6-8 buildings FULL of crafts, SO many things I wanted and didnt get, do to having NO MONEY ugh! But we had fun and Mom got A LOT of cool things. So then we headed to lunch. Just McDonalds so the kids could play and run some of their energy off.. They were 2 of the best behaved kids yesterday. After we got back in town we headed to my house to get Kobe's tricycle then off to the Kid's Fest @ Legends. It was soo nice out there the place is GORGEOUS! The fest was all free... there was face painting, fishing (for ducks lol) food, music, games and more..

Later that evening my whole family gathered over to my Grandparents house for My Uncle Tom and Cousin Jacob's birthday celebration. We had potato soup, broccoli soup and coneys it was really nice. We didnt leave there til 10:30ish. I love family get togethers. I love my family and am blessed to have such a wonderful family... Here are just some pics from out day yesterday::

♥Kobe Lee♥

I fall more and more in love with my son everyday... he says the funniest things and always brings a smile to my face. He is soo smart... at age 3 (and a half) he::

**Knows his FULL address!

** Can spell/recognize his name!

** knows his ABCs with some help after H hahaha...

**Would rather eat Broccoli than anything,... (cooked or raw)

** Loves all fruits and veggies and would rather have that over a sweet!

** knows all his shapes and colors

** Can play and BEAT games on NickJr.com for ages 4-6

** Can work the computer better than my father LOL

I could go on and on about him all day... Some of the things he says just makes me stop and think "omg how in the world did u know that"

Today Kobe: "Mom, Do u know what T-Rex eats?" Me: "yes, animals" Kobe:"no, they eat meat" HAHA Obviously Dinosaur train on PBS is paying off...

Another convo that broke my heart... this was just out of the blue, Kobe:"I not have a dad" Me:"Yes you do, what about Tim" Kobe:"No Me not have a dad, me just have my mommy, thats all I need" ..... is it possible that he is old enough to realize his father isnt in his life? Which breaks my heart even more.. I don't want him to hurt thinking about it... But I am glad that he knows His mommy is here and that I am all he needs... Makes me feel that I am doing a good job. Being a single mommy is a very hard job. But I wouldnt trade it for anything.. I Love it just being me and Kobe! :o)
